The appointment required extensive information and document retrieval and investigations and resultant legal proceedings in Courts and tribunals throughout the world.
Zhu Kuan Group
Liquidator of Zhuhai Municipal Government's "window companies" and 60 subsidiaries in various jurisdictions including PRC and Macau. With debt of US$1.2 billion owed to 30+ international bank creditors, the work included negotiations with the Zhuhai Municipal Government, investigations in respect of at least US$200m of assets and the formulation and negotiation of a debt restructuring agreement involving schemes of arrangement in Hong Kong and Macau.

Reporting Accountant and Scheme Administrator to implement a scheme of arrangement for a member of one of the largest pulp and paper manufacturers and distributors in the world. The restructuring of the Hong Kong corporate was part of a larger global restructuring of the Group in Bermuda, Singapore, Indonesia, UK and US.

Financial adviser to one of the world's largest manufacturers of cathode ray tubes for television sets and computer monitors. Implemented vigorous cash control and substantial cost cutting measures as well as changes to operational and management structure and processes.
SK Global
Provisional Liquidators of a Hong Kong subsidiary of one of Korea's top five industrial conglomerates to facilitate a restructuring of the Hong Kong subsidiary - a key requirement of the global restructuring of the Korean holding company. Our work included securing assets in Hong Kong, PRC and overseas approximating US$648 million and negotiating the resultant settlement with global creditors.

Financial Advisor to a group of US-based bankers in relation to the Hong Kong Taiwan and PRC operations of a substantial manufacturing, trading and service entity following financial difficulties encountered by its United States-based parent. Successfully negotiated revised banking and trade facilities for the rehabilitation of the Group.

Voluntary Liquidators of a Cayman Islands registered company with BVI subsidiaries controlling substantial PRC coal and power assets and businesses in PRC. Successfully maintained ongoing operations and negotiated the disposal of the underlying assets with all creditors being paid in full and a return to shareholders.

Prepared, negotiated and implemented IVA of chairman of listed conglomerate to terminate bankruptcy proceedings.
Hong Kong Construction
Financial advisor to the largest listed construction company in Hong Kong, engaged in numerous substantial projects throughout Asia. Established and implemented a restructuring of the financial and operational affairs of the company and negotiated and resolved disputes between the company and creditors (including 12 international banks).

Instructed by bank group to analyse the ongoing and new contracts of a specialist construction contractor in order to, inter alia, assess the viability of a new specialist construction contract and its proposed financing through new bank loans.
