Professional History

After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1971, Hamish Christie continued to work in the Manchester, United Kingdom office of Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co. undertaking audit, accounting and taxation services and special projects including company flotations, financial investigations and business resuscitation advisory work.

In 1977, he transferred to the Singapore office of KPMG Peat Marwick, initially as an audit manager and from 1980 as a Partner. As a Partner, he was responsible for the audits of clients in a wide range of industries, including banks, insurance companies, hotels, manufacturing, trading and shipping business. He was also the Partner in charge of several public share issues, corporate financial investigations, internal control evaluations and was the liquidator of both solvent and insolvent companies.

In October 1990, he left KPMG Peat Marwick to establish H. A. Christie & Co., Certified Public Accountants, which provides audit, accounting, tax and insolvency services.

In early 2010, Hamish Christie joined Borrelli Walsh Pte Limited, specialising in financial and operational restructuring and corporate recovery and insolvency services.
